James Laster Garrett, age 98 of Canton passed away January 17, 2013 at Cameron Hall. Mr. Garrett’s Body was sent to Troy, AL for burial. The family will be having a Visitation Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Darby Funeral Home from 2PM-4PM. Surviving Mr. Garrett is his Son Scott Garrett of Canton, GA. The caring staff of Darby Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

We were so sorry about your dad’s death. We were still in the learning stage of getting to know him at Cameron Hall (at least some of us were) and I personally never got to get him out and let him visit with the other residents.
As Activity Director, I did go in and visit with him a couple of times, and he was a very interesting person, but my husband Jerry (one of the maintenance guys) and I never got the opportunity to actually get to know him. .
Please accept our heartfelt condolences on your loss and know that our thoughts and prayers are with you this day. I am sorry to say that we have a previous commitment and am unable to be with the family today
